چکیده

Groundwater is a useful source of water for various uses in different places. The major challenge the use this resource how to manage and protect it from contamination. current study was conducted Morogoro Municipality identify vulnerable groundwater areas by using DRASTIC-LU/LC model. applied eight input parameters, i.e., depth table, net recharge, aquifer media, soil topography, impact vadose zone, hydraulic conductivity land use/land cover patterns, which were overlaid GIS generate map. model used rating (R = 1–10) weighting (W 1–5) techniques assess effect each parameter on Vulnerability Index map classified into low- (area 29.2 km2), moderate- 120.4 km2) high-vulnerability zones 124.4 km2). Nitrate analysis cadmium reduction method (DR 890) validity observed that 55%, 15% 50% samples with unacceptable (>50 mg/L), high (29–50 mg/L) moderate (14–28 nitrate concentrations, respectively, fall zone. Furthermore, 45%, 70% unacceptable, moderate-vulnerability In low-vulnerability only found concentration.

modification of drastic model to map groundwater vulnerability to pollution using nitrate measurements in agricultural areas

drastic model has been used to map groundwater vulnerability to pollution in many areas. since this method is used in different places without any changes, it cannot consider the effects of pollution type and characteristics. therefore, the method needs to be calibrated and corrected for a specific aquifer and pollution. in the present research, the rates of drastic parameters have been correct...

Assessing the vulnerability of groundwater sources to fecal contamination

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (HBWS) selectively chlorinates half of its groundwater supply to provide drinking water that meets the Total Coliform Rule. The objective of this study was to determine whether the groundwater sources used by HBWS are vulnerable to contamination with fecal matter and would require routine disinfection. Larger volumes (1,000 mL) of samples from groundwater and ...

A multi-objective fuzzy pattern recognition model for assessing groundwater vulnerability based on the DRASTIC system

More and more problems with groundwater come from the increasing industrialization and the growing waste problem. The DRASTIC model has been used as a valuable tool in many parts of the world for assessing the vulnerability of groundwater. In the DRASTIC system, however, factors that influence groundwater must be divided into ranges and then be given ratings according to whether or not their va...

Finding the Potential of Groundwater Contamination in Baghmalek Pain in GIS Condition through DRASTIC Model

Ground water is regarded as an important source of sweet water because it has less pollution potential and it has high reserve capacity compared with surface water. Therefore, it I necessary to prevent pollution from ground water, considering management of ground water resources in line with quantitative management of water resources. In this research the potential vulnerability of ground water...
